ClearOne, Inc. (“ClearOne”, “us”, or “we”) is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our Users. This Privacy Policy covers personal information collected about our Users, which includes users or visitors to our website (www.clearone.com, or “the Site”), as well as COLLABORATE Space and CONVERGENCE AV Cloud services (“the Services”).

This Privacy Policy describes:

  • the legal basis upon which we process it;
  • with whom it is shared; and
  • how it is stored.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We collect personal information of all Users, which includes:

·         phone number;

·         email address.

We collect personal information of visitors to the Site  and users of the Services (see the Online Tracking section below), which include;

·         Internet Protocol (IP) address;

·         browser type;

·         your Internet Service Provider (ISP);

·         website referring/exit pages;

·         platform type;

·         date/time stamp;

·         other information related to your use of the Site.

We may receive some personal information about you from third parties such as public websites and social media platforms.

If you participate in our surveys, contests, promotions or trainings, we may collect additional personal information about you in connection with your response.

Additional Information Regarding Services

We collect this personal data to provide you with the best experience with our Services. Mostly, we gather Personal Data directly from you, directly from your devices, or directly from someone who communicates with you using COLLABORATE Space Services, such as a meeting host, participant, or caller. Some of our collection happens on an automated basis – that is, it’s automatically collected when you interact with our Products. In certain instances, you can choose whether to provide Personal Data to the Services but note that you may be unable to access certain options and services if they require Personal Data that you have not provided.

We may also obtain information about you from a user who uses the Services. For example, a user may input your contact information when you are invited to a COLLABORATE Space meeting or call. Similarly, a COLLABORATE Space meeting host may record a COLLABORATE Space meeting and store the recording on our system. If a COLLABORATE Space meeting participant decides to record a meeting, that person is responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from you before recording a meeting.

Customer Content is information provided by the customer to ClearOne through the usage of the service. Customer Content includes the content contained in cloud recordings, and instant messages, files, whiteboards, and shared while using the service. Customer Content does not refer to data generated by ClearOne’s network and systems (i.e., data that ClearOne creates because the customer is using the system (e.g., meeting routing information and other meeting metadata).

If you participate in a Recorded Meeting or you subscribe to ClearOne cloud recording services, we collect information from you in connection with and through such recordings. This information may include Personal Data. Meeting hosts are responsible for notifying you if they are recording a meeting, and you will generally hear a notice or see an on-screen notification when recording is in progress.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We, or third-party data processors acting on our behalf, collect, use, and store the personal information we collect to:

  • allow you to access and use our Site;
  • communicate with you (see Communicating With You section below);
  • register users;
  • process requests and or services;
  • provide technical support;
  • customize preferences;
  • recognize you when you return to our Site;
  • enable you to participate in our surveys, contests, or trainings;
  • administer our Site or the Services;
  • ensure the security of our Services and our Site;
  • comply with any procedures, laws and regulations which apply to us – this may include where we reasonably consider it is in our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of others to comply, as well as where we are legally required to do so; and
  • establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights – this may include where we reasonably consider it is in our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of others, as well as where we are legally required to do so.

Additional Information About COLLABORATE Space Services 

Some of this information may be shared with other meeting participants. For example, all messages and content you share in a meeting, including Personal Data about you or others, will be available to all other participants in that meeting (unless you elect to chat with a subset of meeting participants). If you invite another user who is not already in the meeting, when that user tries to join the meeting he or she will be able to see the list of other users in the meeting, as well as other invitees joining the meeting.

Your use of certain product features will result in the sharing or publication of some of your Personal Data. For example, if you participate in a COLLABORATE Space discussion forum or chat room, you should be aware that the information you provide there will be made broadly available to others, who have access to that discussion forum or chat room.

We may collect information about your broad geographic location (city-level location) when you are using our Services or have them installed on your device. We use this information for service-related purposes (such as optimizing your connection to our data center), supporting compliance (such as by telling us where you’re located, which can determine what laws or regulations apply to you. We do not “track” you using location data and we only use this information in connection with providing the best experience with the services to you.

We do not allow marketing companies, advertisers, or anyone else to access Personal Data in exchange for consideration of any kind.

COMMUNICATING WITH YOU

We will contact you (including by email) with information about our products, services and offers which either you request, or which we believe you may be interested in (including through newsletters, alerts, and reminders about recurring events), unless you have told us that you don’t want to receive these messages, or, otherwise, if it is in our legitimate interests, for business development and marketing purposes. From time to time we will send you service-related emails, such as a welcome email when you register for certain Site offerings.

If you provide us personal information when you communicate with us (including in person, by phone, or via email) this information may be shared with our Business Partner Services or a technical representative, employee, or expert that is most likely to be able to address your inquiry. This information will be used only for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.

 

OPINION POLLS AND SURVEYS

We may share personal information we collect from your responses to opinion polls or surveys with third parties. If we do so, we will provide you with notice and the opportunity to consent.

 

CONTESTS AND Promotions

If you subscribe to a promotion conducted by ClearOne and/or one of our partners, we may contact you in connection with that particular promotion, including in order to update you regarding your status, administer the promotion, or let you know that a promotion has ended.

 

ONLINE TRACKING

Like most websites, we, our service providers, and our third-party partners may collect certain information about your interaction with our Site. This information may be stored in log files. We may also disclose and use anonymized, aggregated reporting and statistics about users of our website and from interactions with us on social media for the purpose of internal reporting or reporting to our group or other third parties, and for our marketing and promotion purposes. None of these anonymized, aggregated reports or statistics will enable our users to be personally identified.

If not, we will ask you to provide additional information needed to verify your identity. Our Site and Services are not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 16.
